About us
The TWRA committee is represented by a Chairman and up to 18 members. The committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the Meeting Room at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Our ward councillors and a councillor from Surrey County Council attend these meetings on a regular basis to update us on changes and developments at both Borough and County level. We welcome their assistance and close cooperation in protecting our two villages.

The TWRA has been protecting the interests of local residents for over 80 years. It was constituted in about 1928 or 1929 as the Tadworth and Walton Ratepayers Association, with an annual subscription of two shillings. It was formed as a non-political, non-sectarian organisation and the objectives are set out in the consitution.

The principle objectives of the Association are the welfare of the community in Tadworth and Walton-on-the-Hill, the good government of the district, and the preservation and improvements of its amenities.

The main areas of concern for residents include:
Planning
Law and Order
Local Transport, Roads and Parking
Health and Pollution (www.epsom-sthelier.nhs.uk)
The Environment (www.cpresurrey.org.uk)
The Local Economy

The TWRA is also represented on and/or works with a number of local bodies. These include:
Banstead & District Federation of Residents’ Associations (BDFRA)
National Organisation of Residents’ Associations (NORA)
Banstead Commons Conservators
The Swan Sanctuary
Surrey Wildlife Trust
Police Neighbourhood Panels
Neighbourhood Watch
Council for the Protection of Rural England CPRE - Reigate & Banstead Branch
Save Tadworth Action Group (STAG)
East Surrey Transport Committee.
The TWRA is funded entirely by residents’ annual subscriptions and is indebted to our residents for the level of local support.
