Centenary Woodland Update

JUNE 2017
A full planning application is to be submitted shortly for a car park with 75 permanent spaces and a 100 space overflow, together with 2.5km of hard surfaced pedestrian paths and 3.6km of multi-user paths. There will also be outline applications for a visitors’ centre, memorial area and a natural play area.

Although some of the paths will be in our ward, the car park and buildings will be at the northern end of the site and located in Mole Valley and Epsom and Ewell districts.

If anyone is interested in volunteering, or would like to receive the Langley Vale Wood newsletter, please contact the site manager, Simon Bateman at SimonBateman@woodlandtrust.org.uk

Although the Woodland Trust held a couple of consultation events recently, unfortunately many people were not able to attend for various reasons. In addition, Langley Vale Road was closed due to a burst water main which also prevented residents from attending.

The Woodland Trust has now provided us with two information sheets, one setting out the general proposals, the other giving a detailed plan of the proposed car park which will be located in the north western field between Langley Vale Road and Headley Road. Please see below.

If you have any queries, please contact Simon Bateman, the project manager, at SimonBateman@woodlandtrust.org.uk

We anticipate that more information will be available when the planning applications come in for the proposed works.
